This Disney cutie- currently dating the highly popular Justin Beiber- was born and bred in Grand Prairie, Texas. Her family moved around a bit before moving back to Grand Prairie when Selena was still at a very tender age. Her mother was a “teen mother,” giving birth to Selena when she was only 16 years old. Her date of birth is July 22nd, 1992.
It wasn’t until she was 9 years old that she headed into the world of acting. Her very first role was not a huge one, but it was in the then-popular children’s show Barney and Friends. Her now BFF, Demi Lovato, also played a role as one of the adorable children. Though it was not a big start and she only did it for a couple of years, it did help her catch the “acting bug.”
After finishing her time with Barney and Friends, she did not have too much success when auditioning for other movie and TV roles. The parts she did get at first were small, but she went at them enthusiastically, nonetheless.
Selena landed her first major role in 2006 in The Suite Life of Zack and Cody as Gwen. She also got a role as an evil counterpart on Hannah Montana. Both were Disney Channel movies, and thus she was able to boost up her movie career by doing these roles. She even sang a few of the songs: which also began her career in the music business. Her biggest roles to date are as Alex Russo in “Wizards of Waverly Place,” and her role as Mary in “Another Cinderella Story”, where she both sang and danced.
Selena may have been born in Texas, but she has Mexican and Italian blood running through her veins. Even though she has impeccable and feminine style on the red carpet, her favourite pair of shoes is Converse. She also has a love for boarding and surfing.
