2011 has been a good year for Britney Spears. The singer, who just recently turned 30, has had a very successful year career-wise. Britney who came into the limelight as a ten year old in 1992 on the M
ickey Mouse Club has had her share of turmoil over the past couple of years. She started her career on a very high note, with her 1999 album Baby One More Time debuting at number one on the US billboard 200 and being certified two times platinum within a month of its release.
Her second album also debuted at number one and it sold over 20 million copies worldwide. Everything was going well in her life; she got married twice and had children with husband Kevin Federline. It all seemed picture perfect until in 2006, when she filed for divorce and her personal life began to go awry. She struggled with drugs and alcohol and had problems with the law. She lost custody of her sons to Federline and she spiraled out of control, ultimately checking into treatment facilities.
The struggle seems to be over for Britney though after she staged a powerful comeback in 2011. For the first time in a good few years, she appears comfortable being at the top and not under pressure like before. She launched her seventh album Femme Fatale in March 2011. The album has been certified platinum and received great reviews from critics. Later in the year she embarked on a highly successful tour with industry bigwigs like Nikki Minaj. She has also come out of her shell to talk about her personal life as well as the success she is enjoying career wise.
It seems her life is now on course, as she recently got engaged to her boyfriend of two years, Jason Trawick. Brit was flaunting a three-carat diamond ring custom designed by Neil Lane during a party in Las Vegas. Let's hope that Brit has finally put her troubled years behind her and the only way she can go from here is up.
